It is a Certificate Award Ceremony that took place on this Thursday, the 23rd January 2020, at IPRC-Kigali stadium where students who pursued short courses in IPRC-KIGALI are awarded certificates of competency and others who underwent the recognition of Prior Learning Assessment. Some said that they are able to work abroad.

429 trainees have attended different short courses in different technological fields namely training in plumbing, Carpentry, Welding Machine Tools, Electrical and Electronics, Automobile, Air-conditioning & Refrigeration and Information Communication Technology.

The presenter of graduates appreciated these recognitions and requested the government to reduce the level of unemployment by descending the level of people who are employed yet they have no certificates.

“We are so happy to our government that we have these certificates which will guide us wherever we will for jobs, but we also request that whenever there are job opportunities, we must be the first ones to be employed before those ones with no certificates.” Said the presenter

The Vice Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic (RP) James Gashumba who represented the guest of honor Minister of Education Eugene Mutimura, reminded graduates the chance of having these certificates and encouraged them to make their own jobs as it is hard to afford it nowadays.

“Be proud of your certificates because since today, you have what can prove that you have skills in what you do. As you know there is scarcity of jobs nowadays that’s why we encourage you to try your best and create your own jobs.” Said Gashumba
